Porn furore vexes Austrian leader

Austrian Chancellor Wolfgang Schuessel has spoken out over a sex scandal at a Roman Catholic priests' training college that has shocked the country.
Mr Schuessel called for a full explanation of the scandal, which erupted when child pornography was allegedly found at the seminary.

Further images then emerged showing clerics kissing and fondling trainees.

Mr Schuessel said he was speaking as a believer and a Catholic, not in his role as chancellor.

Officers have confiscated computer hard drives during their investigation at the seminary in St Poelten, about 80km (50 miles) west of the Austrian capital, Vienna.

As many as 40,000 sexual images were allegedly found, but the bishop in charge of the diocese, Kurt Krenn, has dismissed them as a "schoolboy prank" and rejected calls for his resignation.

Mr Schuessel said in a radio interview that he could not comment as chancellor because of the separation between church and state in Austria.

But he added: "The authorities are investigating, and as a believer and a Catholic, I want a speedy and frank explanation."

Village marks Sex Pistols' gigs

Two blue plaques are to be unveiled in north Norfolk to mark gigs played by legendary punk band the Sex Pistols.
The band played the Pavilion, in the village of West Runton in 1976, at the start of their career.

In 1977 they played the Cromer Links Pavilion, which turned out to be the band's penultimate British performance. Both venues have since been demolished.

A single ceremony in honour of the band was being held at the Village Inn pub in West Runton on Saturday.

John Leslie Dumped Over Sex Demands

LESLIE'S SEX DEMANDS

John Leslie's ex-lover has told how she dumped the former TV star because of his constant demands for sex.

Law graduate Angela Stewart said Leslie was a bullying "control freak" who would badger her for group sex, The Sun reports.

"It was a continuous obsession of wanting to have a threesome or to have someone in to watch us make love," she told the newspaper.

"I would say to him, 'No John, I am not interested' - and then ten minutes later he would ask me again and again and again.

"One night he told his mates I wasn't dirty enough for him - but I wasn't going to sink to his level.

"He wanted to turn me into the next Abi Titmuss. But I was not interested.

"In the end I had to get rid of him as I am a nicely educated girl. I am just not into that kind of thing."
